AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF 1:1
- To provide good quality, well-planned, organised and professional tutoring to a range of pupils aged from 4-18 in a full range of school-based subjects.
- To help pupils gain greater confidence and to reach their full potential in the subjects we are tutoring them in.
- To take a pastoral, caring role with every pupil and show appreciation for, and encourage their endeavours with positive praise.
- We expect all tutors to act in a professional manner and set good examples of conduct to their students and follow a code of behaviour that is conducive to mutual trust and respect.
CODE OF CONDUCT
- Tutors should respect client’s confidentiality and only have contact with their schools if this is deemed appropriate and desirable.
- In order that students and tutors are protected, we do advise that the teaching situation is assessed and appropriate noise levels and space is made for teaching, and that another adult is present in the home when lessons are taking place. Some parents may feel it desirable to be present during the first session so they can assess their child’s performance and responses to the tutor. Please respect this, but advise that this is not usual practice as some children feel inhibited by their parent’s presence.
- Appropriate equipment and resources are to be provided by the tutor for their lessons. Hopefully, parents would be willing to buy some books deemed necessary if requested by the tutor.
- 1:1 do not employ the teachers/tutors, we only recommend them to clients based on their qualifications and experience. If any problem arises please do contact 1:1 to discuss your worries and/or concerns. We will be pleased to hear of any particular praise or negative comments for future reference.
